This is the first part of an intensive online course designed to equip participants with the skills to develop and execute effective strategic plans. This section focuses on evaluating strategic actions derived from prior strategic thinking activities (e.g., TOWS analysis) by assessing their feasibility and potential impact. This foundational step is crucial for ensuring that strategic initiatives are practical, achievable, and aligned with the organization's overall goals.
Key Concept
The Feasibility & Impact section of the Strategic Planning course establishes a foundation for evaluating strategic actions by focusing on several key concepts. Feasibility Assessment involves determining the practicality and viability of implementing actions within an organization's constraints, while Impact Analysis systematically examines the potential consequences of these actions on the organization and its stakeholders. This evaluation requires a deep understanding of Resource Constraints, which are the limitations affecting an organization's capacity to act, and Dependencies, the interrelationships between various strategic actions. Furthermore, Risk Assessment is crucial for identifying and analyzing potential risks associated with these actions. Finally, the section emphasizes the importance of both Cost-Benefit Analysis, a method for weighing the financial and non-financial implications, and Stakeholder Analysis, which focuses on understanding the impact of actions on relevant individuals or groups, to inform sound strategic decision-making.
